Complete Transformation

An Eastown Kitchen, Opened Up

Eastown, Grand Rapids MI · 6-week build
Open kitchen renovation with a large center island and white cabinetry.

The owners of a 1930s Eastown foursquare wanted their walled-off galley kitchen to open into the dining room, without losing a load-bearing wall they'd been told they were stuck with. Our design-build team engineered a hidden steel beam during the estimating phase, so the quoted price never moved once demo started.

We opened the wall, relocated plumbing for a new island, and refinished the home's original maple flooring so the new layout reads like it was always part of the house.

Bathroom Remodel

An East Grand Rapids Primary Bath, Rebuilt for Two

East Grand Rapids, MI · 4-week build
Remodeled bathroom with marble countertop and green cabinetry.

A family in East Grand Rapids had outgrown their original 1970s primary bath — a single cramped vanity, a dated tub-and-shower combo, and almost no storage. We reworked the footprint to add a curbless walk-in shower, a double vanity, and a linen closet, all without pushing out the room's exterior walls.

New waterproofing, updated wiring, and a heated tile floor rounded out a space built for two people to get ready at once without stepping on each other.

Outdoor Living

A Cascade Screened Porch, Built for Michigan Weather

Cascade, MI · 8-week build
A covered outdoor living patio with seating.

A Cascade family wanted their bare concrete patio replaced with a true outdoor living space — a screened porch with a wood-burning fireplace and room for a full dining set. We handled feasibility, structural engineering, and permitting through the township's setback requirements, then built the enclosure to tie into the home's existing roofline.

The finished space includes a fieldstone fireplace surround, a tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling, and four-season screens rated to keep it usable well past the first frost.

Whole-Home

A 1950s Heritage Hill Home, Modernized Top to Bottom

Heritage Hill, Grand Rapids MI · 3.5-month build
Modernized open living space in a whole-home renovation.

This Heritage Hill home needed a full mechanical and electrical overhaul, including replacing knob-and-tube wiring original to the house and re-insulating walls that had none. We sequenced the work room by room so the owners could stay in part of the house through most of construction.

New wiring, plumbing, and insulation went in throughout, and we opened the kitchen and living areas into one connected space that fits how the family actually lives in the house today.
